One less: numbers to 10
This skill is for preschool and early elementary learners who already know numbers up to 10 and are beginning to understand relationships between numbers. Find the quantity that is one less than the one shown.
How to practice:
- Read or listen to the question, such as “Choose the group with one fewer.”
- Compare the two or three answer frames and tap the correct group.
- Tap Show answer if you need help identifying the correct quantity.
Use the speaker button to hear the instructions. This also supports children who are not yet confident readers or find written instructions difficult to follow.
Understanding how quantities differ by one supports number comparison, simple calculations, number sequences, and number bonds.
