Meet the clock hands

This skill introduces clocks step by step. Children learn why a clock has two different hands and what the hour hand and minute hand tell us.

The questions have three stages. First, identify the two hands. Next, read the hour shown in a picture. Finally, show where the hour hand should point for a given time. This gradual approach builds understanding in manageable steps.

How to practice:

• Read or listen to the question.
• Tap the requested hand, choose the hour, or tap the correct place on the clock face.

Use the speaker button to hear the instructions. This also supports children who are not yet confident readers or find written instructions difficult to follow.
