Perimeter is the total distance around the outside of a shape. Add the lengths of every side using the same unit.
Worked example
A rectangle has sides 6 cm, 3 cm, 6 cm, and 3 cm. Its perimeter is 6 + 3 + 6 + 3 = 18 cm.
